sampling spaces | 2009-2010
The works from new series sampling spaces refers to the form of reportage. But this is not a classic of reportage characteristic for this species story. It is rather a snapshot scenes from the lives of seemingly unrelated characters. The artist, however, does not use his camera during his work, everything that he uses a visual memory. So we find ourselves in a suburban forest, we come to Romania, Korea, and perhaps also the cold Siberia. Landscapes seemingly different, though all retained the same flash light. The artist explains us nothing, leaving us there alone, allowing yourself to discover the stories.
As usual in reportage, everything will begin from the subject, the meeting point, to capture the snapshot of the eye in proper moment. Right moment for right picture. Then during the process of building a picture, the reason for the picture is emerging ever more clearly. This kind of transformation deepens the images for a further contexts, building chronology and draws the time line, lest in this way the most important elements four-dimmensional space and move to the even truer picture of two-dimensional space. | pl
